Admission Details
Admission to CIS is open to students of all nationalities who demonstrate the ability to access and benefit from the challenging international curriculum and program offered by the school.
Criteria for Admission
- Availability of seats in appropriate classes and programs
- Meeting all admission procedures and qualifications
- Meeting all financial obligations
- CIS will accept students ESL students in Early Years. From Grade 1, decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis after an interview with the Head of Department / Head of School.
- Preference will be given to siblings of existing students, staff children and Alumni.
Admission Procedure for Kindergarten (PP / LKG / UKG)
In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:
- Parents have to complete a questionnaire.
- Parents will be invited for an interview with the Admissions Committee. Receipt of the student’s previous academic records will be reviewed
- A trial session for the selected students will be organized on the school campus.
- Interview with the Principal.
- Final decision to be made by Principal.
Admission Procedure for Elementary School (GRADE 1 TO GRADE 4)
In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:
- Parents have to complete a questionnaire.
- Parents will be invited for an interview with the Admissions Committee. Receipt of the student’s previous academic records will be reviewed.
- Entrance exams must be taken in English and Mathematics and must be completed at a satisfactory level.
- Interview with the Principal.
- An evaluation will be carried out on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance tests, the 2 years reports and an analysis of the Parents questionnaire and interview.
- Final decision to be made by Principal.
Admission Procedure for Elementary School (GRADE 1 TO GRADE 4)
In addition to completing all the normal admission procedures, admission is dependent upon:
- Parents have to complete a questionnaire.
- Parents will be invited for an interview with the Admissions Committee. Receipt of the student’s previous academic records will be reviewed.
- Entrance exams must be taken in English and Mathematics and must be completed at a satisfactory level.
- Interview with the Principal.

Admission Procedure for Middle School (GRADE 5 TO GRADE 8)

- Parents will be invited for an interview with the Admissions Committee. Receipt of the student’s previous academic records will be reviewed.
- Entrance exams must be taken in English and Mathematics and must be completed at a satisfactory level.
- Interview with the Principal.
- An evaluation will be carried out on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance tests, the 2 years reports and an analysis of the Parents questionnaire and interview.
- Final decision to be made by Principal.
Admission for Learning Centre Students Refer LC Policy
- CIS admits students with mild learning difficulties who demonstrate the ability to access and benefit from our regular curriculum and program with limited assistance.
- Students with special learning needs will be admitted on the basis of the admissions committee’s review of previous school records, assessments of current intellectual and achievement levels and psycho-educational evaluation.
- Final decision to be made by Principal.
Documents required for admission
The Application form and Health History form should be completed, signed, and submitted along with the following documentation:
- 2 passport size photographs.
- Copy of Birth Certificate.
- Previous School leaving Certificate/ Transfer Certificate.
- For foreigners: Copy of Passport with valid student visa.
- For Indians: Copy of the Aadhaar card.
- Copy of the final performance report (previous 2 years).
- Parents identification, which matches the information provided on the Application form.
Note
- If it is found at any stage that a student has obtained admission by furnishing incorrect or false information, his or her admission shall be cancelled.
- We can consider High School mid-term admissions only for students who come from International Schools that follow the same Curriculum and offer the same subject choice.
- Admission Committee: is responsible for determining the admissions policy and for all decisions relating to admissions. It consists of the Head of the School, Admission in charge, Section CODs, Learning Centre CODs and Finance Head.
